The Grand Opening Event
A celebration of the completion and dedication of the new Houghton Township Park will be held on 20 August 2023 in Eagle River, MI
The program for the celebration is in progress so check back periodically for updated information.

As of 26 July 2023 we can promise you:

a couple of hours of great music in the afternoon

eight picnic tables with Lake Superior views

The FORAGE food truck will be available from 1 PM to 5 PM
-
Things to do before the music: Picnic, explore the sports facilities, take a guided walking tour of Eagle River, visit the Eagle River Historical Museum, enter the 50/50 raffle

Things to do during the music: Listen. Dance!
Schedule
12 PM to 2 PM
Explore sports facilities/have a picnic/take a
town walking tour/visit the Eagle River museum
2 PM to 4 PM
Dedication (15 minutes) followed by
Music by Oren Tikkanen and the Backroom Boys
1 PM to 5 PM
Forge food truck 50/50 raffles
MUSIC
Oren Tikkanen and the Backroom Boys will play ethnic and dance music starting at 2:15 PM following a brief dedication ceremony.
FOOD
The FORGE FOOD SMITH truck will be at the park from
1 to 5 PM
Explore and use the volleyball, basketball, horseshoe and kickball
equipment
